I haven't done this for a while, sorry, but today's airplane is, in my opinion, one of the best looking airplanes ever built. The Grumman F7F Tigercat

Trim, fairly unique, taut lines, well armed, and crazy fast. What's not to like? Even racked up a few MiGs.

Grumman had an amazing run with all of their Cats. And you're right, the Tigercat is absolutely gorgeous. The Bearcat is my personal favorite, though. It was the second aircraft flown by the Blue Angels, after the Hellcat, and the last piston type flown by the team before transitioning to jets with the Panther.

I had never realized how skinny they were. Much like the Cobras, be really hard to find looking head on.

There's just something about twin-engine single-seat fighter aircraft from that era. The F7F, P-38, and Westland Whirlwind are all gorgeous.

The tiger cat was nuts 4 .50 in the nose and 4x 20mms under the wings.
